Rock Climbing Level 2 - intermediate
Overview:
You’ve learned the climbing basics and are ready to take your skills to the next level. Spend a day with the professional guides at Further Your Adventure as we explore body position, direction of pull, hand placement and foot work. We will help you refine your technique and introduce new skills to build on your foundation and continue your progression in the vertical world of rock climbing. This course will help you gain the skills to realize your passion for climbing.
Description of skills covered:
• Reinforce the safety concepts of climbing and rope systems
• Explore route planning and site awareness
• Movement analysis and refinement of personal climbing movement
• Explore body position and center of gravity
• Discuss and practice hand and foot placements
• Explore climbing styles and methods dependent on the location i.e Crack, Slab,
stemming, liebacking, and more
• Review and reinforce climbing etiquette and (LNT) Leave no
trace – stewardship practices in the outdoor environment
Duration:
This is a full day program expect approximately an 8 hour day plus driving in and out of various locations can add more time to the program. (Programs can be customized for your particular time frame and desires)
Prerequisites:
• Intro to Rock Climbing or equivalent training/ experience.
• Good physical condition able to engage in moderate activities outdoors for
hours.
